Did you know that the emotional state you feel subconsciously effects that of others? You may be behaving totally calmly, yet if you feel a basis of tension underneath, this can still make others in your environment more tense. The good news is that this also works the other way around.

This clip explains in short, one of the important effects of the interaction between horses and people: the synchronisation of heart rythm and heart coherence.

The reason why coaching and therapy with horses is often so effective is directly related to this phenomenon. The state of our heart rhythm and the state of our nervous system adapts to that of a horse. In the presence of a horse that is calm, we return to a harmonious state more easily. This helps to create an emotionally safe space in which we can release limiting patterns, and the emotions that come with them.

A good coach or therapist can help a client, in interaction with the horse, really get to the heart of personal transformation. To achieve this, a good understanding of the role of our emotions and the functioning of our nervous system is crucial.
